Manifold Plumbing Systems

Overview of Manifold Plumbing Systems

Initially popular with commercial residential projects hot/cold distribution manifolds are increasing becoming a normal method of installation. Using a plumbing manifold reduces the number of joints within a water supply system. Benefitting from simple isolation points this method is considered labour saving and extremely useful during the build process as outlets can be individually disconnected without interrupting other supplies. This method benefits from a fire and injury risk reduction during installation as the plumbing manifolds are connected using press-fit, push –fit or compression fittings.
Reductions in wastage and trips to the merchants are minimised as we supply whole house plumbing pipe/fittings packs.

Simplicity of Manifold Plumbing Systems

Using a Kitchen as an example, a “hot” manifold has a feed from the boiler, a separate “cold” manifold connects to the incoming supply. The cold taps, fridge, washing machine and any other appliance with cold-water requirement connect individually to the manifold using multilayer WRAS approved pipe. In the same manner, the hot water outlets connect to taps and appliances.
The same principle applies to Bathrooms, Utility Rooms and any other room with a domestic hot/cold water requirement. If required, individual secondary return circuits can connect to the end of the manifolds. By segmenting the pipework this method often leads to shorter dead legs.
During the house renovation or building process, if you require the toilet to operate but not the bath taps, each point is easily isolated on the manifold hand wheel. This is definitely a much simpler, much more apparent and quicker technique than using a 15mm inline isolation valve. System Design & Expert Support

We review the whole house supply strategy and consider each room’s requirements. We consider all necessary connections, any future expansion and extensively review the project. On completion of the design, we supply the installer with boiler link up schematics, flow and return details, a pipe layout diagram and an installation guide.
This method of installation, schematics and our expert support will speed up the installation process and aid other project tasks.

Tailored Heat Plumbing Manifold Systems

Utilising quality tried and tested plumbing fittings coupled with easy to follow plumbing schematics is why many installers prefer Tailored Heat over other suppliers.
By using a range of manufacturers and providing the supporting documents, we take the procurement and on-site designing out of the plumbing system. Talk to Tailored Heat about your project.
